A short drive from town, Riversands is a genuine surprise — beautiful grounds, a proper cellar door and wine worth bringing home. Go for the afternoon and take your time.

Nindigully Pub

One of Queensland's most legendary outback pubs. Cold beer, a massive steak and a crowd that's driven hours to be there. About 70km south — absolutely worth it.

Thallon Silo Art

The grain silos at Thallon are painted with striking large-scale artwork as part of the Outback Arts trail. Under a clear outback sky at night, they are something else entirely. About an hour's drive south-west — a genuine detour worth making.
